Harvest Green will be showcasing the many “gourd-geous” things you can do with pumpkins to celebrate the fall season during Harvest Fest, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Harvest Green model home park, 618 Vineyard Hollow Court.
A highlight of the event, which will include a farmers market and tours of the on-site Village Farm, will be live pumpkin carvings by New York City-based Maniac Pumpkin Carvers. Founders and artists Marc Evan and Chris Soria have redefined pumpkin carving to include portraits, etched recreations of famous paintings and fantastical 3-D masterpieces.
“We are thrilled to have these master pumpkin carvers perform in Harvest Green,” said Shay Shafie, general manager of Harvest Green. “Marc and Chris are nationally known artists, appearing on Good Morning America, The Rachael Ray Show, Martha Stewart Living and more. They even won Food Network’s Halloween Wars.”
Event-goers will have a chance to take home a pumpkin carved by Maniac Pumpkins by purchasing $5 raffle tickets during the event. Inspired visitors can embellish their own gourds at the Harvest Fest pumpkin-decorating station. Little ones can also play pumpkin tic-tac-toe, one of several fall-oriented games.
Also planned during Harvest Fest will be a pie-eating contest, free face painting, balloon art and bounce houses. Food trucks including Pepperoni’s and Big Poppas Kettle Corn will be on hand. The event is free and open to the public, although some activities may require a small fee.
