Gregg Alston

I was born in Houston, and grew up in Pasadena. Bartending is actually my 2nd career. I spent over 15 years in the trucking business, about half of it driving, the other half in management. My last job in the industry was Operations Manager of a company here in town.

I started bartending part time in 1996, mainly weekend gigs at restaurants and private parties, which is where I met Kiran. I started bartending full time in 2000, occasionally working several part time jobs at once, one of which was Ashiana, Kiran’s restaurant in the energy corridor. In 2003, I opened Mugsy’s on Kirby. I leased Leon’s Lounge from 2007 - 2010, and opened Mugsy’s on Richmond in 2009.

In July 2010, I stopped at Kiran’s to get my fix of great Indian food. Kiran stopped by to chat, and by the end of the meal she had convinced me to work with her in the evenings.   Here we are 7 years later, in a great new location.
