And the finalists for your favorite SPECIALTY SHOP are Houston Dairymaids, Grit Grocery and Caroline's Kitchen - all dedicated to sourcing local products, produce and beverages thereby supporting our local economy! Read about our finalists and then CAST YOUR VOTE for your favorite.

Houston Dairymaids is a eleven-year-old venture. Part business and part exploration, our goal is to meet artisan cheesemakers, learn about their craft, and bring the best of their products to Houston. We look for cheeses naturally made by hand, and, when possible, from unpasteurized milk.

Through our cheese tastings and work with area chefs, we hope to share our experiences while expanding the offerings of specialty foods to our community.

Grit Grocery

Imagine a Farmers Market + Blue Apron, on a food truck.  Real food, right in your neighborhood, saving you time without sacrificing health.

Caroline’s Kitchen in Tomball is a blend of eclectic style with a warm inviting interior.  Caroline specializes in unique one of a kind tamale flavors.  Fusion and artistic pairings are the norm on the black chalk menu board that changes weekly.  Make sure you check her out when in Tomball.  The tamales are hand made in small batches.  Traditional Carnitas and Chicken Cream Cheese Jalapeño are #TamaleMagic Fan favorites.  Caroline’s Kitchen also carries products from local vendors at Houston Area Farmers Markets, Craft Hot Sauces, and specialty baked goods.
