Each of the dining rooms at Rainbow Lodge have a theme

Rainbow Lodge is a special place for Houstonians. For 40 years, we’ve been celebrating here: anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, milestones … “We see a proposal almost daily,” says Marc Borel, beverage director. So many of us have a special memory made at Rainbow Lodge.

But it’s more than an indulge-once-a-year sort of place, especially in the bar. With Friday night live music, a relaxed bar menu and a hand-carved bar that invites lingering and looking, it’s a perfect place to stay a while and come back often.

The cocktail menu starts with what’s in season. Not only are many of the ingredients local, some are even grown in the Lodge’s own gardens, or the citrus grove that wraps around the south side of the property. Cocktail selections change often, based on what’s in the kitchen at the time, and sport clever names that any fly fisher will appreciate.

And then there’s the wine list. Not only is Rainbow Lodge’s wine list impressive, many of the most exceptional wines are offered by the glass. Looking to try one of Wine Spectator’s Top Ten? The Lodge offers these hard-to-find wines by the glass until they run out.

It’s worth talking to Borel about your drink choices; his personal experiences permeate the menu. Not only can he provide a great drink suggestion, but also a story to go with it. And the stories at Rainbow Lodge are part of the fun on any occasion. It’s a place to make memories you’ll talk about later, even if the occasion is just being free on a weeknight.
