Edible Houston is a bi-monthly magazine committed to sustainable, local food farmed, foraged, and founded in the greater Houston area.

CONTRIBUTING WRITERS:

We love fresh and local, but we also crave hearty, natural, and raw. We love culinary history in Houston, smoked meats worth a trip, pick your own farms with a tale to tell, community gardens, sustainable agriculture in our backyards, life on a shrimp boat, ethnic eats, iconic foods, DIY anything, behind the scenes scoops, or a trend that is making a difference in how Houston thinks about food. We accept submissions for features, (900-1500 words), department stories (400-800 words), and notable bursts about unique ingredients, hidden gems, people, places, or menus that are worth highlighting. Please note that we do not review restaurants or restaurant openings.

PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Are you a photographer who loves to tell stories using pictures?  We need photographers to assign to stories as well as to shoot specific shots.

Writers/photographers interested in contributing to either the magazine or on the web should pitch us a story and demonstrate narrative voice. Please send your ideas and writing/photography samples (or blog links!) to francine@ediblehouston.com
