Gracie is founder and CEO of Recipe for Success Foundation, created in 2005 to combat childhood obesity by changing the way children understand, appreciate and eat their food. She has received dozens of national and regional awards and recognition for her work and grown her Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ for children from a small pilot in Houston schools to one with impressive national scope. In recent years, Gracie has expanded her focus to include a public call-to-action with her VegOut! 30 Ways in 30 Days Challenge in March and farmers marKIDS days in October, classes and resources for parents, and solutions for food access issues in Houston with Hope Farms and the Rolling Green Market. Her newest project in producing trans-media content for children. Retired from practicing architecture, decades in the hospitality industry and a stint in journalism, Gracie donates her time as CEO of the Foundation while she continues to write. Eat It!
