Kristen Torrez

Raised in Fort Worth, TX, surrounded by her family’s restaurants and bar, Kristen Torrez has always had a passion for the food & beverage industry and helping others. Torrez obtained her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Texas State University and went on to work for a Hospitality PR Firm in Austin, TX, and was part of the communications team at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. She’s been part of the Second Servings of Houston team since 2019, and has quickly become an expert in food waste and food insecurity. As the communication specialist, Torrez handles the food rescue nonprofit’s PR, marketing, social media, partnerships, events and volunteers.
