The bar at Peli Peli in Katy

In Houston, which is considered by some measures the most diverse city in the United States, Peli Peli perhaps has the most diverse menu. Named after a spice from South Africa, Peli Peli has carved itself a unique niche with its South African cuisine fused with flavors imported from all over the world. Most Houstonians will find their surf-and-turf staples familiar, but ethnic accompaniments like bobotie (a minced meat pastry,) biltong (cured beef) and the much-loved peppadew peppers (just try them, they’re amazing) are sure to surprise and delight.

Houstonians love Peli Peli. In fact, reservations are highly recommended, because mealtimes can get busy. Fortunately, each Peli Peli fine dining location has a fabulous bar where guests can slide in unannounced and enjoy creative twists on cocktails and an extensive wine list.

Peli Peli is particularly proud of its wine list, which heavily features selections from South Africa. A large array of wines by the glass (including some from their own private label) encourage trying new wines that Houstonians won’t find anywhere else in town. Popular cocktails include the Peli Peach Bellini, smooth Madagascar Mule, tropical Passionfruit Mai Tai and the Cape Town Cucumber Martini, perfectly refreshing in the Texas heat. With such exciting variety, it’s a great place to try something new.
