Brennan's has one of the best happy hours in town
Nobody serves up southern hospitality and New Orleans style like the Brennan family. A warm greeting and a stack of pralines by the door tell you all you need to know about that: Generosity is what they do.
The Brennan’s bar is tucked around back of the restaurant next to the courtyard, and what a beautiful courtyard it is, evoking the laid-back vibe of the French Quarter. Bartenders are happy to work with you on your drink order: “It’s a cocktail, not a tattoo,” says Richard Middleton, Brennan’s bar chef. They’re happy to let you try before you decide. Their main goal? To get a smile on your face and a drink you love into your hands.
The 777 Happy Hour is a great place to start: 7 days, until 7pm, choice of 7 cocktails, 7 wines, 7 noshes, all for $7 each. But Brennan’s isn’t just a place to sit down and be served. It’s a place to get involved. With events like Date Night cooking classes, Chef for a Day, wine tastings and Courtyard Socials, there are many ways to sample dishes and drinks or to even get your hands dirty making them yourself. With the offerings at the bar changing regularly, and a daily “What’s in the Shaker” option on the 777 menu, there is always something new to try. If you love it (and you probably will) go ahead and ask your bartender for the recipe; they’re happy to share.
At Brennan’s, hospitality is an old recipe, but it never goes stale. Don’t forget to grab a praline on the way out. Or two, we won’t tell.
